After reading this book I will pick up anything anywhere that means something to me - no matter what others might think. Caroline's interest in animals and the outdoors began when she was a child growing up in Minnesota. They were there to heal, not to fight. Next was the version by translators Diana Burgin & Katherine Tiernan O"Connor (1995, based on the Vanovskaya, but also incorporating some needed passages from the 1973 edition), supposedly highly accurate and considered a far better job than the books which appeared in 1967. As a human being, this book reminded me of something easily forgotten: the amazing resiliency of the human spirit.

This volume is a sturdy addition to Osprey Publishing's military history collection. 13 excellent stories by 13 talented writers. The series is very much about good versus evil with advanced technology at the heart of the story. Well written and well thought topic. I gave it 4 stars because perhaps someone who has not seen him speak will read this and feel as good about the topic as I did when I was in his audience.
