Now that I'm almost 20 years away from high school, it's easy to stereotype teenagers as wild, careless, promiscuous, and many other negatives. She returned to visit from upstate NY as often as she could and missed it when she was not there. Line by Line is an engrossing story with characters you can relate to. An early Christian missionary to the pagans of the far North is indispensable to the story, as well as Orm's rough Viking crewmates with colorful names of their own. It's great to see how those before us figured the future would play out. Many earlier translations ironed out potentially awkward phrasings, and thereby destroyed the parallelism that was being masterfully established.
